Casework

Activity, tasks, and calendar

Keeping matter history, assigned work, reminders, and calendar events connected to the record they support.

On this page

Before you start

  • Access to the applicable matter.
  • An enabled communication channel for fax or text activity.

Typical workflow

  1. 1

Open the matter’s Activity Feed and use category or subject/content search to find prior work.

  2. 2

Add a note, task, call, fax, or text with the context, files, assignments, and dates it needs.

  3. 3

Use Pinned and My Assigned Tasks to keep important or personally owned work visible.

  4. 4

Complete, edit, reply to, move, copy, or otherwise manage an item through the actions available for that activity type.

  5. 5

Review Case Calendar entries and deadlines, including drafts that still require a date or confirmation.

Activity Feed

The Activity Feed brings notes, emails, faxes, calls, texts, tasks, reminders, forms, and signature activity into one chronological matter history.

Find activity

Search can focus on the subject or content, while category filters narrow the feed to a specific kind of work. Pinned items and assigned tasks remain available as focused views.

Add case activity

From a matter, users can add a note, assign a task, log a phone call, send a fax, or send a text when that channel is enabled. Include the subject, context, responsible people, dates, tags, and files the activity needs.

Manage task status

Tasks can carry assignments and dates and can be marked complete or incomplete. Replies, edits, files, movement between records, and other available actions remain part of the activity history.

Task Workflows

Firm administrators can prepare repeatable tasks triggered by supported case events, including case creation, phase changes, or completion of another task. Assignment, timing, status, and run history remain reviewable.

Calendar entries and deadlines

Calendar work can include dates, times, calendars or recipients, reminders, notes, sources, and attachments. Case Calendar views organize upcoming deadlines, saved entries, and drafts that still need dates or review.

Export and handoff

Available activity can be exported for review, but the live matter history remains the place to verify the newest status, attachments, replies, and task completion.

Keep in mind

  • Task Workflows can prepare repeatable work from supported case events, but administrators should review assignments, timing, and run history.
  • Exported activity is a snapshot; the live feed remains the current record.
