Jane drafting
Operational expectations for templates, source-led drafts, revisions, and review.
On this page
Before you start
- An approved template or clear drafting objective.
- The source material and case context needed for the draft.
Typical workflow
- 1
Describe the document, audience, purpose, and source scope Jane should use.
- 2
Choose an approved template or report format when the firm has one.
- 3
Review Jane’s plan and clarify missing information before generation.
- 4
Inspect the draft against cited sources, firm conventions, and the case record.
- 5
Revise and save only after the responsible person approves the work product and destination.
Define the assignment
Identify the case, audience, document type, required sources, expected format, and any firm template before drafting begins.
Preserve unsupported values
A missing fact should remain a placeholder or question. Users should not interpret fluent text as proof that every statement is supported.
Review before use
Check facts, names, dates, amounts, citations, legal positions, formatting, and requested relief before saving or distributing work product.
Generated documents
Confirm the destination, file name, source template, populated values, and remaining placeholders before saving generated work to a matter.
Keep in mind
- Generated work is a draft until the firm’s responsible reviewer approves it.
