Docket, notifications, and mail routing

Reviewing firm-wide time-sensitive work and routing communication that has not yet found the correct matter.

Before you start

  • Access to the docket or notification records being reviewed.

Typical workflow

  1. 1

Open the relevant docket view and confirm its current scope, exclusions, and responsible team.

  2. 2

Review the underlying matter before changing a deadline or treating a docket item as resolved.

  3. 3

Use configured notifications or emailed summaries as prompts to return to the live view.

  4. 4

Review unassigned communication in the Mail Room and compare sender, recipient, content, files, and available matching context.

  5. 5

Route the item to the correct case or lead only after the relationship is clear.

Docket views

Authorized teams can configure internal docket views around the dates, matters, people, and categories they are responsible for reviewing.

Exclusions and scope

Docket exclusions should be used deliberately so a view removes known irrelevant work without hiding an item the team still expects someone to monitor.

Docket notifications

Configured notifications and emailed summaries can help responsible users revisit a docket view. The live docket and underlying matter remain authoritative.

Mail Room review

Email, text, fax, call, and attachment activity that has not been assigned to a case or lead can appear in the Mail Room for review.

Route to the correct record

Review sender, recipient, content, attachment, date, and available matching context before assigning an unmatched item to a case or lead.

Keep in mind

  • Automated matching and summaries assist review; they do not replace responsibility for the authoritative docket or matter record.
