Reports and analytics

Building repeatable record sets across cases, leads, contacts, and tasks while treating the underlying records as authoritative.

On this page

Before you start

  • Access to the underlying records and reporting area.
  • A defined question the report should answer.

Typical workflow

  1. 1

Select Report: choose the case, lead, contact, task, or other available record set that matches the question.

  2. 2

Set Up Columns: choose identifying and descriptive fields, plus any supported blank review columns.

  3. 3

Set Criteria: combine the conditions and AND/OR groups that define the intended population.

  4. 4

Run Report: inspect representative rows, unexpected inclusions, missing values, and the result scope.

  5. 5

Save or Export: name and reuse the report, share it internally when appropriate, or export an available CSV, Excel, or Word snapshot.

Select Report

Begin with the record population that matches the question, such as cases, leads, contacts, or tasks. The selected report type determines which general, related, and configured fields can be used later.

Set Up Columns

Choose the fields that should appear in each row and add blank columns when the exported work needs a place for later review. Include enough identifying context that a reader can understand a row without guessing at the underlying record.

Set Criteria

Criteria can combine conditions and AND/OR groups. Confirm date behavior, empty values, configured choices, contact references, assignments, phases, statuses, and archived-record treatment before accepting the population.

Run Report

Preview results and inspect representative rows, totals, missing values, and unexpected inclusions. Return to columns or criteria when the result does not answer the intended question cleanly.

Save and reuse

Saved reports can appear in My Reports and can support save-as, internal sharing, and archival. Give the report a purpose-led name and revisit its criteria when the firm’s fields or process change.

Export

Available exports can include CSV, Excel, and Word formats. An export is a snapshot governed by the recipient’s handling practices; the live report remains the place to rerun current data.

File System Analytics

The separate Analytics area can summarize file totals, types, folders, and Hot Docs for operational review. It should not be interpreted as a complete firm-performance dashboard unless the firm has an additional configured dashboard.

Keep in mind

  • Results follow the viewer’s access and the quality of the underlying firm data.
  • File System Analytics describes file and folder activity; broad firm-performance dashboards may depend on additional configuration.
