Jane file tools
Using transcription, comparison, appraisal-material preparation, and spreadsheet analysis responsibly.

Before you start
- Access to the source files and permission to create or save the requested output.
Typical workflow
- 1
Select the files and the tool that matches the task, such as comparison, transcription, spreadsheet review, or appraisal-material preparation.
- 2
Confirm source order, scope, and the output Jane should prepare.
- 3
Review the generated transcript, differences, analysis, or appraisal materials against the original files.
- 4
Choose the destination and confirm saving only after the output is ready.
Choose the source boundary
Confirm which files are inputs, which case owns the work, the order in which files should be considered, and where any generated artifact would belong.
Audio transcription
Jane can prepare a transcript from a supported audio source. Review speakers, uncertain passages, dates, names, and legally significant wording against the original recording.
Document comparison
Comparison and synthesis can identify differences or combine context across selected documents. Confirm version order and inspect every consequential difference in the source files.
Spreadsheet analysis
Structured previews can show tables, multiple sheets or result views, row counts, and source access. Validate headings, types, formulas, missing rows, and any calculations before relying on the analysis.
Appraisal invocation materials
Jane can help organize selected source material into appraisal invocation materials. Review source inclusion, order, labels, and the preview before confirming file generation.
Inspect generated artifacts
Review transcripts, comparisons, appraisal materials, calculations, tables, and generated files before treating them as final or choosing a case destination.
Preserve originals
Generated or transformed files should supplement the original source rather than obscure, replace, or overwrite it without an intentional reviewed document action.
Keep in mind
- Tool availability and supported file behavior can differ by firm configuration and file type.
