Work Center and daily work

Using the Work Center to understand what needs attention across matters before opening each individual record.

On this page

Before you start

  • An individual account with access to the matters and work being summarized.

Typical workflow

  1. 1

Begin with Open tasks, Overdue, Due today, Active matters, Unread, and Open signatures to identify immediate attention.

  2. 2

Switch between work assigned to you and work you assigned to others.

  3. 3

Use date filters and search to narrow tasks and deadlines to the period or matter that needs review.

  4. 4

Open the underlying matter from Active Matters, Recent Activity, Recent Documents, or Upcoming Deadlines.

  5. 5

Create a note or task when new follow-up should become part of the connected record.

Attention summary

The Work Center can summarize open tasks, overdue work, items due today, active matters, unread communication, and open signature activity for the signed-in user.

Assigned work

Task views distinguish work assigned to the user from work the user assigned to others. Date filters help isolate overdue, current, upcoming, and undated work.

Upcoming deadlines

Upcoming Deadlines brings time-sensitive matter work into the daily view. Open the underlying matter and source before changing or relying on a deadline.

Active matters and recent work

Active Matters, Recent Activity, and Recent Documents provide direct paths back into the records the user has been working with.

Communication overview

Available email, text, fax, and call activity can be summarized over a recent period so teams can notice unusual volume or missing follow-up.

Quick creation

New notes and tasks can begin from the Work Center, but they should still be connected to the appropriate matter, person, due date, and responsible team.

Keep in mind

  • Work Center counts summarize accessible work; open the underlying record before making a consequential decision.
